In studio vs on location beauty services and why the cost gap.
So you have an amazing event to attend and you want to look your absolute best. You want that red carpet special and the convenience of makeup and hair services in the comfort of your home, hotel or place of venue; but you don't want to pay the cost that comes with it. Girl I get it! Convenience is not cheap, and I am going to share with you some factors that contribute to the cost of on location beauty services. Including but not limited to the following:
On-site beauty services are considered a luxury service. Girlfriend, all you have to do is say when and where and I and or my team will be there to give you the ultimate beauty experience. Now, in order to provide this luxury service, we will be packing up and transporting multiple cases of equipment which may include: (lighting, studio chair, portable table, extension cords, etc) and supplies directly to you in the comfort of your home, hotel or venue, on demand at the hour you specify; and girl sometimes that is a 5 or 6 am call ok! So while you are still tucked away all nice and snug in bed, I am up getting ready and on the road to come to you. Which I don't mind because I love serving my clients and making your day as stress free as possible. So as you can see, having dedicated professionals who know and understand your needs, come to you, will allow you to relax and enjoy your special day without the added stress of traveling to and from service location. This is especially beneficial for brides to be and their wedding party.

Besides my pretty face hehe, I’m sure factors like positive reviews on various social media and advertising sites, as well as on my website, the look of my website, and the quality of my images/work brought you here in the first place. Now what keeps you here and makes you want to book with me is what I pride myself on. Honey, these days with Youtube and Instagram, everybody is calling themselves a makeup artist. Taking their hobby and turning it into a side hustle for a quick buck all because they know how to put makeup on themselves; key word (themselves). A professional like myself however, takes their craft seriously; this is not just a hobby, it is a passionate career and business that I make a living from. If you’ve read the About Me section, you probably know that I am a certified Makeup Artist, trained by top artists in the industry in Toronto, Ontario. As a trained professional in the beauty industry with over 10 years experience; my skill and expertise is extensive and growing all the time with professional development. I bring this ever growing body of knowledge, reliable,trusted and friendly service, quality, lasting work to each consultation and beauty service. All of that training,skill and experience make my billable time as a professional more valuable, the same way it does in any other profession.
Time & Travel
Travel cost: I know travel cost can be a drag, but hey, gas costs and if you travel by a taxi service like myself it costs even more.
Idle Time: Idle time? you're probably like girl really? Well have you ever heard of the term "time is money"? In this case it really is. Idle time, is the time spent during travel or waiting time before services or between clients should there be tardiness. So let me break it down for you; if it will take 30 minutes to and from your location, that is one hour of time spent idle, which would cost me the loss of one client service; time that could of been booked in studio.
Set up Time: It takes time to unpack and set up a full service station on the go and even more time to clean up and pack up that station. So you can always expect me to come at least 15 minutes before the scheduled service time to set and get ready to provide your beauty services for you.
Service time (especially for bridal services, group services or services carried out over a couple of days): Aside from providing services on the day of, I will be providing possible makeup, skincare and or hair advice, taking your emails and calls to answer questions, offering referrals for other vendors if asked, and helping set a timeline for your day of services among other things. Your schedule becomes mine; if you have an early start in the morning, I have an even earlier start! All of the time spent reviewing your Pinterest boards, discussing styling options, providing beauty suggestions, going over scheduling, coordinating with your group, bridesmaids, photographer, event planner, etc. is time “on the clock”.
Products & Tools
Girl you want the best we have to use the best. All of my products and tools are professional grade and kept in proper sanitary conditions in accordance with industry standards. This means not only constant acquisition of new products for testing and to replace ones that are depleted, but also maintaining stock of proper sanitation materials and disposables such as cotton rounds, Q tips, makeup sponges, mascara wands, and false lashes, as well as hair accessories (pins, hair ties, fillers, etc). I am required to have skin care and makeup for every skin type and shade in addition to different styling products and thermal tools appropriate for every hair type & texture. As you can imagine it adds up very quickly!
Beauty is my full time job
Beauty is my passion and also how I pay my bills and take care of my family. Day in and day out, I am making people look and feel good, researching and developing products, providing customer service, and continuing my education, practicing/honing my craft; so that I can continue to bring you the results that you love and I am known for. Makeup and hair are a lot of fun, but it is also an intensely demanding job. I run the business end of things like paperwork and marketing as well as performing a wide spectrum of beauty services. As a single mompreneur, with its rewards, there are also challenges when it comes to business; one being always having child care on hand so that I may service my beautiful clients anytime and anywhere. So please, I only hope after getting a better understanding, that you would value my business as much as I value you and yours.
